Migration

Our team’s primary focus was a website migration from osCommerce to Magento 2.2.6 as well as the resynchronisation of third-party extensions for the online shop.

Products Structure

We were asked to flawlessly import all categories, attributes, images, customer information, CMS pages and email templates while retaining the current product structure and preventing data loss.

Advanced Search

Our second focus was a custom search function with an autocomplete feature that would allow website visitors to enjoy a faster search experience.

After a smooth website migration to Magento 2.2.6 and retention of the product structure, our team implemented a ’Buy Now’ function. This enables buyers to proceed to checkout directly from a product page or catalogue page skipping the shopping cart and avoiding unnecessary clicks.

The scope of our work included:

• Integration with payment systems such as Realex and PayPal;
• Email marketing service integration (Mailchimp);
• Custom design based on the Ultimo theme;
• Multi-stock functionality;
• Implementation of custom filtering by brands and ‘featured products’;
• Implementing a search auto-complete functionality that works seamlessly with brands, product SKUs and product names;
• Search customisation.

We have greatly improved the online shopping experience for customers of this Irish music store. Now, Everestmusic’s website is successfully running on Magento 2 and flawlessly handling over 2.5 thousand unique visitors per month, who can search for, select and buy required items and accessories in a few clicks.
